4pm Update: We’d say we can’t believe the waves aren’t up yet but it is the Gulf coast after all. Get ready for some windy waves tomorrow.
8:30am Surf and Weather Report: Small clean waves coming in this morning, very small. Its supposed to rain all day. Some weird rain all day before the front?? Weird. The front not supposed to pass till after dark. Maybe some surf late. Like AMI will pick it up way before it does here. Don’t get your hopes up for today, it is the Gulf. Venice Florida Fishing Report Feb 25: Your Venice Florida fishing report for today is: The fishing has been hot! The sheephead bite is strong, the snook bite is coming around. A guy did get a 35 inch snook using a white paddle tail. And the stone crabs are in for sure. Go fishing guys. FWC makes snook, redfish temporarily catch-and-release only in areas affected by red tide. Self-guided kayak fishing available at Jetty rentals at the North Jetty on the south end of Casey Key. 941-525-0117.
Snook Redfish and Spotted Sea Trout are catch and release till May of 2021.
