Eve Update: Fun waves all day. Noticed people out on the cam all day. Heard the cops were throwing people out all day. Got back around 6pm. No Cops. Waist waves till dark, a bit high tidey. Get ready for the shutdown, goes into effect Thursday at Midnight.
12 noon update: Fun waves all morning in the occasional Gulf chest set range The problem is that the police are walking up and down the beach at south jetty issuing tickets to anyone who walks to the water. 2nd degree misdemeanor they told me. To legally surf at the jetty you must paddle from a boat ramp through the inlet to south jetty and paddle back when you’re done, never stepping foot on the sand. Who’s ready for an adventure?!?! We we’re pulled outta the water twice this morning and actually paddled through the inlet, pretty long paddle guys.
6:45am Surf and Weather Report: No April fools day today but it would be nice if this coronavirus was a joke. The buoy is jacked to almost 7ft straight west with 25mph winds. The waves are up. Go surf guys. I’m sure y’all have a bunch of ideas, whatever they are, be safe. Technically the beach parking lots are closed and not the beach itself. Look for a parking lot that is not a beach parking lot and a spot with no lifeguards and try your luck. Surf alone, keep a safe distance from others. Check the Indepth Surf Forecast
A 30 percent chance of showers before 8am. Sunny, with a high near 80. Breezy, with a northwest wind 14 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.
Mostly clear, with a low around 60. Northwest wind 9 to 13 mph becoming northeast after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 18 mph.
Water temp pushing 80. Check the red tide at Red Tide Status. …Red Tide Map
