Eve Update:What happens when you don’t have waves for 2 months on the gulf coast? You surf every possible free second that you have. And thats what you all did today. Now your beat. So go to bed and wake up early to do the same thing again tomorrow. Strong waves in the easy head high set range came in all over WFL. Looking like wind in the 20 plus mile an hour range from the south. Waves could be slightly bigger in the morning but not as clean as today.
Noon Update: Picking up with some thigh sets. I think its gonna pick up fast from here. Red tide is so/so if you wanna risk it at the jetty.
730am update: Swell not hitting the jetty…yet. There is some red tide here and this is before waves with any size are breaking which disperses the toxins into the air. Lets hope its not to bad. Heard the red tide is gone south of the jetty and maybe gone in Manatee but not sure.
6:30am Biohazard morning surf report: The buoy is starting to pick up 4 foot at six seconds at 5 AM with straight offshore wind. Dead low tide at 7:10 AM and a storm surge high tide at 1:15 PM locally. You’ve been waiting for this day for two months. Well more like the whole year. Went to bed early, surf supplies ready, First aid kit supplies ready, go surf. At the jetty at 6:30am. Red tide doesn’t seem good locally, headed north.. Check the indepth surf forecast to know where to surf.
Water temp pushing 85. Check the red tide at Red Tide Status. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 89. Heat index values as high as 98. Breezy, with an east wind 15 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph
