Eve Update: Fun waist high waves out there this evening with a few bigger sets. Higher tide made it a little wonky and backwashy. Low tides around sunrise tomorrow, then it comes in all day. 54 degree air temp tomorrow morning, water temp around 62 probably. Lets hope for some fun ones in the morning.

2pm Update: Ah man! Its picking up, looks pretty consistent knee high with occasional thigh sets. Only 1 guy out. Looks fun out there, should get a bit bigger before dark

Surf and Weather Report: We have a weak front coming through this morning. The wind switched from south to north after 6am. The egmont buoy is picking up a little and should keep on picking up throughout the day. The 42099 buoy that is about 100 miles west of Sarasota is 5ft at 7 secs. Thats what should start to hit us, don’t expect to much outta this one. Hopefully a gulf waist high drop before the end of the day. January Fishing Report

Venice Florida Fishing Report Jan: Your Venice Florida fishing report for today is: Good. The sheepshead been biting. The water is cooling down, reds are biting along with snook and some snapper in the backwater for sure. Saw a black drum and a flounder caught too. Snook Redfish and trout catch and release till May 2021. Self-guided kayak fishing available at Jetty rentals at the North Jetty on the south end of Casey Key. 941-525-0117.
