Eve Update: It wasn’t in the cards today at the jetty guys. The swell just wasn’t pointed at us but it sure hit some of the beaches that face more south. AMI looked real fun as the pics by Matthew Mackin show. We probably possibly maybe should could have a fun wave at the jetty tomorrow for sure.
9:30am Morning Surf Report:Buoy is 6ft at 6secs with some South wind over 16 mph right now. Surprisingly the waves are in the knee high set range. The swell angle isn’t hitting us right just yet but be patient. Go get some breaky. We’re about to get blasted by rain and this front. Front looks like its coming through around 1pm but the wind doesn’t switch north right away, kinda switches west. Go surf , its gonna be up for a few days then a big ol front coming through late week. Prob won’t hold but we’ll see. Water temp 69. We have some local gulf forecast wizards at our disposal that share their predictions with us and we pass on to you. Below is what we posted last Sunday Evening. In retrospect it was very valuable information.
Water temp pushing 69. Check the red tide at Red Tide Status. Showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 4pm. High near 74. Breezy, with a south wind 11 to 16 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Venice Florida Fishing Report Dec 9: Your Venice Florida fishing report for today is: Mucho Mackeral being caught at the jetty. You can always find fish around here in the rivers and offshore. FWC makes snook, redfish temporarily catch-and-release only in areas affected by red tide. Guided kayak fishing available at Jetty rentals at the North Jetty on the south end of Casey Key. 941-525-0117.
