Surf and Weather Report: Big ol storms off the coast heading north. If they move on shore i’ll get the day off! Smooth conditions this morning with the afternoon seabreeze supposed to kick in out of the south west at 5-10. Chances of rain and thunderstorms all day with some cooler temps thankfully. Water temp pushing 87. Check the red tide at Red Tide Status. …Red Tide Map Partly sunny. Isolated showers and thunderstorms early this morning, then scattered showers and thunderstorms late this morning and afternoon. Highs in the upper 80s. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph, becoming southwest this afternoon. Chance of rain 50 percent.
Tropical Update: Low confidence storm coming from the southern U.S., not the Caribbean. So weird. We’ll see if it sticks. Low confidence. Thats a week away, next Saturday.

Venice Florida Fishing Report July 6: Your Venice Florida fishing report for today is: Really Good! The fish are biting! Snook, snapper on tap at the jetty. Offshore you can get grouper and snappers too. You can always find fish around here in the rivers and offshore. FWC makes snook, redfish temporarily catch-and-release only in areas affected by red tide. Self-guided kayak fishing available at Jetty rentals at the North Jetty on the south end of Casey Key. 941-525-0117.
